DURHAM – The Blue Devils’ three-match win streak was snapped by the eighth-ranked North Carolina team on Saturday at Ambler Tennis Stadium.
 
The Blue Devils dropped to 12-6 and 5-4 in ACC competition, while the Tar Heels improved their record to 15-3 and 8-1.
 
 What Happened

• The Tar Heels began the match with a bang, winning the doubles points on courts one and 2. They were 1-0 up.
• Shavit Kimchi The following are some examples of how to get started: Katie Codd On court one, they lost 6-1 to the 17th ranked duo Fiona Crawley/Carson Tanguilig.
• The match that decided the point was played on court two, in a back and forth battle between the duo Emma Jackson The following are some examples of how to get started: Karolina Berankova Elizabeth Scotty & Anika Yarlagadda from UNC. Jackson and Berankova lost the match 6-3 to earn the Tar Heels the doubles point.
• The Blue Devils’ tandem Briana Shvets The following are some examples of how to get started: Iuliia Bryzgalova On court three, the tie was 5-5 when the doubles match was won.
• Bryzgalova was a graduate from Moscow, Russia. She won the match on court 3 6-2,6-2. It was her second straight ranked victory as she continued to play well.
• Tanguilig, a native of Carlsbad, Calif., opened the match leading 5-3, but Tanguilig responded by winning three out of the next four games to tie the score, 6-6. Codd, from Carlsbad, Calif. won the first five games of the match, but Tanguilig tied the score at 6-6 by winning the next three.
• Kimchi, from Israel, had a 5-4 lead in the first and second sets, but could not hold on.
• North Carolina was able clinch victory on court 6 as Evans posted a victory of 7-5 4-6 6-3 over Berankova.Berankova started the first with a hot start, leading 2-0. She then held a lead of 3-2 before dropping a crucial deuce point, which evened the score 3-3.
• Jackson and Shvets faced their opponents in a three-set match when the match was decided.

• Duke played its 10th consecutive match without junior Ellie Coleman83 in singles rankings. 83 in singles at the national level.
• Iuliia Bryzgalova She improved to 6-1 in ACC Play with her sixth straight win.

Hopefully, we can accomplish that. We’ve gotten stronger as a group, our tennis has improved and our emotional level is higher. Next Match

• Duke will continue playing in Durham. They will host another two home games. The Blue Devils are scheduled to host Virginia Tech at 5 pm on Friday, 4/5, and Virginia at noon on Sunday, 7/4. Both matches will take place either at the Ambler Tennis Stadium or Sheffield Indoor Tennis Center.
